Even the slower songs, they were singing it full voice back to us.” But the night that stands out for Kiaran is the Manchester Ritz show: “Every single song we played, the fans were going nuts. The new boys played their first gig with the band to over 30,000 people at Tramlines Festival 2021 and the entire tour was a seismic party with thousands of Spaniards chanting “Yorkshire! Yorkshire!” at the Mad Cool festival in Madrid. “We got to know them through making that album. “They were almost like strangers at first,” reflects singer Kiaran. They made a third album, World I Understand, with Alex Procter and Trent Jackson joining the Cook brothers Brandon and Kiaran for three booze-fuelled days of “drinking and partying” at Rockfield Studios, and it was as if they’d been there from the start. It’s two years now since The Sherlocks roared back to post-pandemic life with a sound that was bigger, bolder and 50% new, following the departures of guitarist and bassist Josh and Andy Davidson.
